About the MTG Master Checklist

The Magic: The Gathering Master Checklist is a comprehensive collection tracker for every MTG set. Browse any expansion and see every card listed with its name, collector number, mana cost, rarity, and finish information. Check off cards as you acquire them, search for specific cards, and track your collection progress across all of Magic's history.

Whether you're completing a set of Final Fantasy (FIN), collecting every planeswalker from Tales of Middle-earth (LTR), or cataloging your Wilds of Eldraine (WOE) collection, this tool helps you track what you own and what you still need. The checklist covers all modern MTG sets and is updated as new products release.

How to Use the Checklist

Select a set from the dropdown at the top to load its full card list. Each card is displayed with its collector number, name, mana cost, rarity, and finish type (nonfoil, foil, or etched). Click the checkbox next to a card to mark it as owned. A progress ring shows your completion percentage for the current set.

Use the search bar to find specific cards by name — essential for large sets with 200+ cards. You can filter by rarity to focus on mythics, rares, uncommons, or commons. The Export CSV button lets you save your collection data to a spreadsheet for backup or sharing.

Understanding MTG Card Variants

Modern MTG sets include multiple finishes and treatments for the same card. A single card may exist in nonfoil, foil, and etched foil versions, each with different availability and value. Collector Boosters contain foil and etched versions, while Draft and Play Boosters contain primarily nonfoil cards. Some sets also include showcase frames, borderless treatments, and extended art versions that are exclusive to certain products.

Rarity in MTG ranges from common to mythic rare, with mythic rares being the hardest to pull and typically the most valuable. Special treatments like special illustration rares and serialized cards (numbered 1-500) command the highest premiums. Use the MTG Top 25 Price Tracker alongside this checklist to see which cards in each set are worth the most.

Collection Tracking at TCG Events

Bring this checklist to Magic events, prereleases, and card shows to track your collection on the go. Before attending, load the sets you're collecting and mark off what you already own. At the event, use the search function to quickly check if a vendor or trader has cards you need. The checklist works in your browser session, so your progress persists across page refreshes.

For serious collectors, the Export CSV feature is essential for maintaining a backup of your collection data. Export regularly and store the file safely — clearing your browser data will reset your checklist. The CSV format is compatible with Excel, Google Sheets, and most collection management tools.
